Like a weaver I have rolled up my life

Graphite on paper, 14.8cm x 21cm

Jesus has been taken down from the now ruined apple tree and laid in his mother’s arms. The coppice wood where they met (Station 4) has been felled for timber, and natural disaster has left the remaining trees broken stumps. The sun and moon look down on the ravaged scene but as actually happens after the felling, masses of bluebells are still springing up, signs of hope, even though there is no wood to shade them.
